Our Mission

Krishna Buddha World Community is inspired by two profound spiritual traditions. We honor each on its own terms while creating a space where people can explore what their teachings mean for a compassionate and purposeful life.

Our Purpose

To help people live with greater wisdom, compassion, devotion, awareness, and service.

Our Approach

We do not require members to adopt a specific religious identity, and we do not erase the important differences between Hindu and Buddhist traditions.

Our Values

Respect, spiritual inquiry, humility, compassion, peaceful dialogue, service, and openness to learning.

Our Vision

We aspire for a tolerant world where everyone is free to practice their religion and spiritual tradition.

Ellie

Coordinator

Ellie Couperthwaite

Ellie began her meditation practice through the lens of Zen Naturalism before expanding into a broader exploration of Buddhist and contemplative traditions. She graduated from the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), under the leadership of Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, in 2025, and has since completed the intensive Mindfulness Mentor Training program through Banyan.

Deeply devoted to dharma study and practice, Ellie’s teaching is rooted in mindfulness, Metta, self-compassion, and living with an open heart. She has also completed A Year to Live twice, deepening her relationship with impermanence, presence, and what it means to live fully.

Ram Dass is Ellie’s primary spiritual teacher and the central influence and scaffolding for her approach to practice and teaching. Inspired by his integration of Hindu and Buddhist wisdom, she weaves together loving awareness, compassion, presence, service, and our shared belonging.

At the heart of Ellie’s offerings is a commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can arrive exactly as they are, reconnect with their innate goodness, and remember that they already belong.
